Why Group Traveling By Bus is Better Than Flying

Given our modern and busy life, travel to a destination seems like an automatic plane ride. However, that’s not necessarily the best way to travel with a group. The fact is, road travel comes with a number of advantages. For example, the cost of a distance traveled by charter bus can easily outweigh the cost of all the extra time, hopping, and price needed to support air travel.

Getting Past Our Memories of Childhood

Buses have a bad rap. Part of that is probably due to the fact that many of us grew up being transported by a rickety school bus to our local grade school or high school. And that old experience still resonates in the back of the head. In reality, the modern-day charter bus is a machine of comfort. The design and amenities, in some ways, are far more comfortable than the cramped frame of a coach seat in economy class on major airlines.

Compare the Facts

Here’s the fact number one: A full grade charter bus can carry up to 56 passengers comfortably, including all the luggage and plenty of room to move around.

Second, the cost per seat on a charter bus goes down as the group gets bigger. That’s not the case with airplanes, rather they follow dynamic pricing, which means price increases with demand.

Third, when you compare the cost of a charter bus round trip to a round trip airfare for the same destination, many times the bus costs half. And you don’t have to use the biggest one in the lot. If your group is smaller, you can travel far more comfortably and still hit the same price point, using a charter mini-bus.

Fourth, planes don’t go exactly where the group needs to get to. You have to find the nearest airport, then rent ground travel, drive some more, and finally arrive at the destination. Why not hire a charter bus for your group, that will literally get you from Point A to Point B without any hopping!

Comfort Matters a Lot

Shuttle rental buses have far better comfort, hands down. The leg space alone is something to be jealous of when you’ve spent five hours on a flight from SFO to New York La Guardia. Better yet, buses have leather seating, no restricted time on when to get up and move around, large windows for viewing the travel, and in between stops to catch a breath of fresh air on the way. You’ll come off the bus feeling a lot more comfortable, less beat up, and enjoy the trip a lot more.

Protect the Environment Better

And, on the environmental side, as compared to an airplane, a bus is far less damaging to the air we all breathe. People don’t realize the impact of planes on pollution because it flies high in the sky, but in reality, its engine emits more CO2 than a bus ever will. For an average trip, a charter bus will create 0.18 lbs of carbon dioxide emissions for every mile traveled, whereas an airplane creates 1.10 lbs per mile for the same trip. The stats prove the argument by a difference of more than 500 percent.

Give a Charter Bus Rental a Try and Be Impressed

When planning your next event transportation management, don’t automatically go by the typical airline schedule. Try something different and let CSI show you some options that will be viable for your next trip. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to set up a charter bus trip, and yet save money, which you can use in other areas. Best of all, your group may want to give you an award for the best ideas of the year after they take their trip and realize how much fun it was.
